    Ag Day at the Capitol April 18, 2010
    Connecticut Farm Bureau exhibited at Ag Day, featuring bison wild rice and barley soup delivered by the Tanners of Creamery Brook Bison Farm of Brooklyn and served by the Women's Committee. Governor M. Jodi Rell stopped by to taste this unique treat, served by Sydney Mintz, Alyce Block and Laura Fonicello. Joan Nichols and Ashley McCullough, CFBA staff, also helped at the exhibit passing out Farm Bureau membership applications, and answering questions. 
     
     
    Farming and Inland Wetlands Forum March 4, 2010
    Connecticut Farm Bureau (CFBA) coordinated its first annual statewide conference on March 4, "Farming and Inland Wetlands Forum: What Every Agricultural Producer Needs to Know." More than 150 attended the day-long event at Maneely's in South Windsor. A partnership effort of USDA Risk Management Agency, UCONN Cooperative Extension System and CFBA, the conference was intended to provide participants with an understanding of how the Wetlands and Watercourses Act,( CGS Sec.22a-36 through 22a-45) applies to farming operations. In addition, emphasis was also placed on how farmers should work with municipal wetlands agencies.
     
     
    Ag Day Baby born at Middlesex Hospital Celebrated by Middlesex County Middlesex County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee celebrated Ag Day by presenting a gift basket to the first baby born that day at Middlesex Hospital and his family.  Anthony Kerr, son of Sherlyral and Jerrod Kerr of Rocky Hill. was born at 10:21 P.M., weighing 8 Lbs.3 oz. The basket of agricultural items presented to Anthony and his parents by Sydney Mintz, chair of the Women’s Committee, contained products produced in Middlesex County, plus a Farm Bureau membership.
